I must be breaking some kinda universal rule about me writing stuff on an almost weekly basis, but what the hey. I just can't get myself worked up about homework right now. . . Feature Article: Lemme try my hand at angst. ------------------------------------------------------------- Well, things have ben kinda boring here. Or, you could say that nothing real big or deserving of a Feature Article. As you know, today is Valentine's Day. As you all know, it also means that I've been alone for five years. Usually, I'm pretty cool with this. It's taken me some time to be comfortable with who I am, but today, in the middle of Physics, it just got to me. Maybe because half the class was wearing some shade of red or pink. Maybe because it was raining outside. But it just got to me. So I put my pencil to paper and came up with this. Even gave it a title. Rain on Valentine's Day - LK Chen The sky pours down Grey clouds my vision Couples pass in the hallway Their manner full of crimson Stealing glances into each other's eyes As if their feelings will mean more If they pretend it forbidden I walk past them alone No girl on my arm No rose for me to give A sea of red on this day And I the only one blue As Marty McFly might say, "This is heavy." Happy Valentine's day, I guess. News Boxers: ------------------- - FINALLY finished a drawing I was assigned to for the yearbook. For those of you who have a little comic book savvy, it's an homage to Giant Size X-Men #1. I set it up with these old teachers who've retired at the top, and below them bursting through the page are the cool new teachers. If you've seen the cover, you'd know what I'm talking about . . . - Interesting note, Newsweek's magazine this week as an Article about how Asian guys are on the rise, or something? S'funny, nobody tells me about ANY trends these days . . . - Finished watching Visions of Escaflowne, an anime series. Pretty good. It's up there, but the romantic that I was, I wasn't satisfied with the ending, despite its "happiness." - Read a book (Wow, what a change for Lukas, huh?). And not a comic book, either. _Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah_ by Richard Bach. Short little book, but full of interesting views and ideas. It's not that long to read, definitely recommend it. But be warned, you might not like it the first time through. . . - Dunno if I mentioned this before, but got accepted into Rutgers, an NJ state university. Course, in Princeton High school, anybody who's anybody gets into Rutgers, so it's not much of a celebrated event. Fact, most people that even apply get in, so it's not much of a big deal. . . - Rice, T, PLEASE mail me back. It's an upcoming four-day weekend for me, and I thought it might be cool if we got together. . . - Mom won't tell me why I might get out of school in May to go to Japan (!), but if I DID go, we'd have to rent me a tuxedo! ::ulp:: THIS IS COOL ------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Uh, I dunno. I've been sacrificing my "development" time so that I could sleep more. So there isn't anything really cool that I could really review, so. . . ------------------------------------------------------------------------- SAY WHAT?! Alright, so maybe that poem I wrote was one of those bottled-up things that was waiting to be expressed, but I specially chose these lyrics a long time ago, so it's just a coincidence! You love her But she loves him And he loves somebody else You just can't win And so it goes Till the day you die This thing they call love It's gonna make you cry I've had the blues The reds and the pinks One thing for sure (Love stinks) Love stinks yeah yeah (Love stinks) Love stinks yeah yeah (Love stinks) Love stinks yeah yeah (Love stinks) Love stinks yeah yeah Two by two and side by side Love's gonna find you yes it is You just can't hide You'll hear it call Your heart will fall Then love will fly It's gonna soar I don't care for any casanova thing All I can say is Love stinks (Love stinks) Love stinks yeah yeah (Love stinks) Love stinks yeah yeah (Love stinks) Love stinks yeah yeah (Love stinks) Love stinks yeah yeah I've been through diamonds I've been through minks I've been through it all Love stinks - J.
